RRB Double Beaded Curb Strap

More feel. More adjustability. More control over how your curb works.

The Ruby’s Rodeo Beads EquiPivot is designed with two rows of beads working together to create a broader, more balanced contact point across the horse’s chin area. Instead of relying on one narrow line of beads, the double-beaded design distributes the strap’s contact across two bead rows, creating a unique feel and allowing the curb to engage smoothly when the reins are picked up.

HOW THE DOUBLE BEADED DESIGN WORKS

A curb strap is part of the overall leverage system of a curb bit. When the reins are engaged, the bit rotates and the curb strap comes into contact with the horse’s chin groove. The strap helps establish the point at which the bit’s rotation is limited.

With the RRB Double Beaded Curb, the two bead rows create a wider contact surface than a single-bead design. This can give the rider a more consistent feel as the curb engages while still allowing the strap to conform to the horse.

The beads themselves also create individual contact points rather than one completely flat surface. As the curb engages, the beads can move with the strap instead of acting like one rigid piece.

WHY TWO ROWS?

The double-beaded construction is designed for riders who want a curb with a little more presence and a broader contact area.

Compared with a single-beaded curb, the double-beaded style:

• Provides a wider contact area
• Creates two rows of individual bead contact points
• Can help the curb sit more consistently in the chin area
• Offers a distinctive, more substantial feel when the curb engages
• Works especially well for riders who prefer a more noticeable curb feel without simply using a heavier chain-style curb

IMPORTANT: FIT MATTERS

The curb strap should be adjusted correctly for the bit being used. A curb that is too loose may allow excessive bit rotation before the curb engages. A curb that is too tight can cause the curb to engage prematurely and may create unnecessary pressure.

The curb strap does not make a bit automatically “stronger.” The overall feel depends on the bit design, shank length, purchase, rein position, curb adjustment, horse’s conformation, and the rider’s hands.

HORSE & RIDER CONSIDERATIONS

The Double Beaded Curb may be a good choice for riders who:

• Want a broader curb contact
• Prefer a more noticeable curb engagement
• Like the feel of beads rather than a flat strap or chain
• Want a durable, functional curb with a unique RRB design
• Are comfortable adjusting their curb correctly for their individual bit

Every horse is different. A sensitive horse, a horse with a low or prominent chin groove, and a horse accustomed to a different style of curb may respond differently to the same design.

Always introduce new tack gradually and check your horse’s response.

RRB QUALITY

Each RRB Double Beaded Curb is handmade with attention to bead placement, construction, and finished fit. Because these are handmade products, slight variations may occur making each piece uniquely yours.
